Learn to Reef Monitor with Project Azraq
The waters that surround Dahab are ideal to study the impact of the rising temperatures and the potential survival of the coral reef ecosystem. That is why one of our main goals is to consistently monitor the reefs and provide the marine research community with data.
On our Reef Diver Presentations we teach a marine education programme developed using the same species we monitor. But if you are interested in more in depth knowledge about our monitoring work and how we carry it out we can organise a course side by side with our already running presentations.
We will teach you how to identify key fish, coral and invertebrate species as well as coral diseases. After you have become confident in identifying these you will begin assisting our team in collecting vital data which will be published to a public database and will provide scientific bodies with the information they need to further their research on corals.
* This course can be tailored to fit with other on going educations. For example, if you are already taking a divemaster internship with one of the dive centres that collaborate with us, we can fit both schedules together.
