MARINE EDUCATION
Our Programme
One of the most important goals of Project Azraq is to improve education about all aspects of our oceans. As Jacques-Yves Cousteau said, “People protect what they love, they love what they understand and they understand what they are taught.”
Our team has developed comprehensive marine education programmes which provide an in depth knowledge of coral reefs and the challenges they are facing from both a scientific and anthropological viewpoint. Each of our programmes target different audiences in order to spread marine education to as broad an audience as possible.
AZRAQ WORKSHOPS
Understand better the marine world that you love.
Join our Azraq Workshops and learn more about the reef and its inhabitants. Each marine educational workshop can stand as a single seminar. For more in-depth knowledge about our reefs you can sign up to several workshops each with complimentary themes.
AZRAQ WEDNESDAYS
Every Wednesday we hold a lecture in the centre of our beloved town of Dahab. These lectures are open to everyone and give an insight into vital species that the project monitors in order to engage residents and visitors alike with the importance of coral reef protection.
Location: Blue Beach Classroom, Dahab
Duration: 45 minute – 1 hour (depending on questions)
Cost per lecture: 100 EGP
This money goes directly towards funding our reef monitoring and educational programmes. By joining the lecture you are directly supporting the vital work we do. Thank you!

COMMUNITY PRESENTATIONS
The Red Sea community is the focal point of Project Azraq. We believe we can only protect the future of the coral reefs with our community’s support and participation. We want to make the right information available in order to achieve this. To this end we give free presentations every month, to both adults and children, in English or Arabic, highlighting the importance of coral reefs and the threats they face.
For more details about the presentation contact us or check our Facebook Page.
